image for Prodigal Peacock Brought Back to School in Queens, NY Back home, but not for long.

What's lost is found.

Two and a half weeks ago we brought you a spoof story about the peacock on the loose in Queens, NY.

Now there's further info. See an article, "Runaway Peacock Finally Captured and Returned to Queens School," on NYPost.com.

Yep, the peacock is baaaaaaaaaaack and seems to be ready to create more havoc. The NYPost.com article contains these ominous words: "He has now had his wings clipped to prevent further escape."

Ha! Ha! Yeah, right.

A Spoof reporter went to the school to interview the prodigal peacock to find out how he feels about his return as well as his "clipping."

She reports that, on the one hand, the peacock was philosophical about his capture, saying, "Ah well. It's September and I guess it IS time to go back to school!"

On the other hand, however, he expressed some displeasure with the fact that officials had clipped his wings without his consent in an effort to ground him. "The nerve of them! That's animal cruelty," he claimed, adding, "I could sue if I wanted to."

But then he confided, "Oh well, no use getting my feathers ruffled. I'll have the last laugh. Flying isn't the only way to travel. I'm already planning my next escape, and this time it will be on foot. Air travel these days isn't what it used to be."

This is one peacock to watch. We wouldn't be shocked to hear that he'll be starring in his own reality show. Something like "Peacocks Gone Wild," perhaps? He's already turned down a guest spot on the Honey Boo Boo Show.

Count on The Spoof to bring you all the exciting adventures of this prodigal peacock on the move.

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
