"London 2012: 'No specific' terror threat, says Minister Philip Hammond"
Source: BBC News
Extract: He said an elaborate military exercise carried out in London last week was to prepare for any threats that might arise in a dangerous world.
The exercise included tests of air defence missile systems at six sites across London, using dummy armaments.
Typhoon jets, based at RAF Northolt in west London, also took to the skies over south-east England with Lynx, Sea King and Puma helicopters.
Exercise Olympic Guardian, which ran until 10 May, also saw HMS Ocean sail to Greenwich in the capital.
Mr Hammond told Andrew Marr: "The idea now is that the military will fade into the background.
Comment: So, that's given any terrorist with intent on crippling the London Olympics a boost I bet!

"Baroness Warsi: Minority Of Pakistani Men Think White Girls Are 'Fair Game' For Sex Abuse"
Source: Huffington Post
Extract: Some Pakistani men think white girls are "fair game" for sexual abuse, according to the chair of the Conservative Party Baroness Warsi.
The peer, whose parents are from Pakistan and is the UK's most senior Muslim politician, made the comments during an interview with the Evening Standard in the wake of the Rochdale sexual grooming case.
"There is a small minority of Pakistani men who believe that white girls are fair game," she told the paper. "And we have to be prepared to say that.
* You can only start solving a problem if you acknowledge it first.
"This small minority who see women as second class citizens, and white women probably as third class citizens."
It follows last week's conviction of nine men, eight of whom were Pakistani and one man who was from Afghanistan, who were sentenced as a separate investigation, after Liverpool court heard they abused girls as young as 13.
One of their victims had told police officers that she was being abused more than four years previously.
Comment: * Nothing expected to happen then, the Coalition has acknowledged patients dying on trolleys, record unemployment, pensioners dying of malnutrition and freezing, rioting, murders, increasing violent crimes, and what have they done?

After their work-out at Mr Obama's Camp David retreat, Mr Cameron called for plans to prevent the euro's collapse
Mr Obama largely shared his views, said aides at the summit, where world leaders are being put up in cabins in the woods. But Germany's Angela Merkel thinks the eurozone should be left to sort itself out and diplomats were up until 4am arguing after Friday's opening dinner.
In TV interviews, Mr Cameron stressed if debt-ridden Greece crashed out of the single currency, there would be global economic shock waves. He called for action to prevent other eurozone states being pushed to the brink.
Comment: Hello hello hello!... Obama and Cameron working out in the gym together? This after Obama tucked Cameron up in bed on Airforce One? Hello hello hello!
