image for Ross Kemp's Nan's World Snooker Round-up: Day 12 Hendry will be at home on the golf course

Day two of the Quarter-Finals.

Stephen Maguire beat Stephen Hendry 13-2
After a great start, Maguire finished off Hendry in two sessions, giving him an afternoon session off - but Hendry has plans for even more time off - by announcing his retirement after the match!

After an incredible career, including 27 years at the Crucible, winning seven world titles, 36 ranking tournaments in total, 775 career centuries including 11 maximums, of which three were at the Crucible, and aptly he made on on day one of this years event.

Sadly for Jimmy White, who Hendry beat in four world finals, this retirement is around fifteen years too late!

Aged 43, Stephen says he made the decision three months ago. What will he do with all his time? Take up darts - or crown green bowling even or - more likely - spend more time on the golf course? Perhaps he will build a course somewhere in Scotland with Donald Trump - if First Minister Alex Salmond lets them?

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
