Cancer patient's agonising death alone - after hospital moves him to a hotel to cut costs
Source: The Mirror
A cancer patient died an agonising lonely death after being moved to a hotel by cost-cutting hospital chiefs during his treatment.
Ian Curtis, 39, died from a "catastrophic infection" - in the hotel just 200 yards from the hospital.
A panic alarm might have saved him but the hospital said they had removed them because they were not used.
It also said staff did not check on patients in the hotel.
Mr Curtis died two days after beginning his second round of intensive chemotherapy, an inquest heard.
He was found by his wife when she came to visit him in his room at the Radisson Edwardian Grafton Hotel in London.
