Comedian and evolution fundamentalist, Richard Dawkins, is being accused of being a big chicken, according to 'highbrow' scandal rag, The Telegraph
Apparently, the normally outspoken believer taunter has refused to debate the existence of God with a renowned Christian philosopher.
Prof Craig is a research Professor of Philosophy at Talbot School of Theology, in California, and the author of 30 books and hundreds of scholarly articles on Christianity. He has offered four invitations to debate with Dawkins.
'Prof Dawkins maintains that Prof Craig is not a figure worthy of his attention and has reportedly said that such a contest would "look good" on his opponent's CV but not on his own.' Reports the Telegraph.
Yes, disciples of Dawkins are not to think for a moment that Dawkins is afraid of being shown up in a debate with Prof Craig. You are expected to believe that he is reluctant to raise his opponents profile.
This is not the first time that Dawkins has refused debates. Apparently he is so important, that he has refused to improve his potential opponents CVs hundreds of times, at the expense of making him look like a total incompetent fool, afraid of being challenged.
It seems that even his sympathisers are becoming embarrassed by his cowardice. From the Telegraph 'Dr Daniel Came, a philosophy lecturer and fellow atheist, from Worcester College, Oxford, wrote to him urging him to reconsider his refusal to debate the existence of God with Prof Craig.
In a letter to Prof Dawkins, Dr Came said: "The absence of a debate with the foremost apologist for Christian theism is a glaring omission on your CV and is of course apt to be interpreted as cowardice on your part.
"I notice that, by contrast, you are happy to discuss theological matters with television and radio presenters and other intellectual heavyweights like Pastor Ted Haggard of the National Association of Evangelicals and Pastor Keenan Roberts of the Colorado Hell House."'
So it would seem that the only delusion that Dawkins is competent of debating is his own delusion of grandeur.
Again we must stress that Dawkins is not afraid of debating God or evolution. He isn't. He just thinks that he is so important that he would greatly benefit his opponents by humiliating them publicly?
