Fans of the forensic show Bones are furious over the content of the latest episode, which aired last night.
The show, which features the adventures of bones expert, Dr Temperance Brennan and her FBY agent partner, Seeley Booth, began, as usual, with the gruesome discovery of a decayed and eaten body in Florida's Everglades.
Before long, our heroes are thrown together with an old sparring partner of Booth's, Walter Sherman, who has an uncanny knack for finding things.
"We've seen some nasty stuff in Bones" says disgruntled fan Philip Blatant, of Nottingham. "But this was just too horrible.
"Most of the show was spent following this Sherman geezer and his mates and we hardly got to see Brennan and Booth at all.
"There was no outrageous experiment in Hodgins's lab and we didn't get to see any ridiculous couture gowns which Dr Saroyan likes to wear to work!
"It was horrible!
"And what was with that ridiculous cockney accent that Saffron Burrows was doing as one of Sherman's sidekicks?
"It's going to take a while to get over this shock."
Bones insiders say the episode, The Finder, was intended to introduce characters for a proposed spin-off series.
