(From E! News) - ABC announced today that it would be getting rid of its series "Desperate Housewives" in order to make space for its new series "Desperate Housewives 2."
The decision was made by ABC and Marc Cherry. The decision was that it was time for the series to end and then be continued in another series.
"After seven years of torture, I believe that the show must come to end." Executive Producer Marc Cherry said about the decision to end the show. "ABC and I decided that if we did not cancel it and start a whole new series, the show would have dragged on even more."
Marc Cherry also promised that the show would star the same actors, would star the same characters, and would follow and continue the story of the first show.
The studio released this statement: "The cancellation of show would help the studio because people will see it a a 'new' show rather than the boring same old thing that it always is."
After the announcement, a rumor spread claiming that "A robot would be replacing Teri Hatcher"
ABC Studios quickly confirmed that the rumor was not true and that there would not be any replacements for the show.
