Derek Acorah, the Jedi Master of Psychics is to appear alongside Mystic Meg, Joe Power, Colin Fry, Belinda Bentley and several other celebrity psychics in a special one-off edition of the tedious probabilities show, Deal or No Deal.
"This is going to separate the special from the special needs," said bearded presenter Noel Edmonds.
Part of the idea is to attempt to see if the psychics perform better than ordinary people. To spice it up, the boxes will, for the first time, contain negative amounts.
"If they end up with any negative amount, even the minus fifty thousand pound," said Edmonds, "then they have to give that amount to Charity. If it's a positive amount then I will give the money to Charity myself."
Unbeknown to the Psychics, Noel Edmond's daughter is called Charity.
"It's a win win situation for me," said Edmonds with his trademark twinkle.
For this edition only, the Banker, the man who rings in to offer the deal that the contestant takes or not, and gives the show its name, will be none other than renowned psychic sceptic, James Randi.
"I'm looking forward to them all failing miserably," said Randi. "My completely non-psychic prediction is that they will fare no better. We'll have to wait and see."
Most of the psychics have asked for seats behind their tables and boxes for their spirit guides, who get tired quickly, being dead. Bosses at the show have agreed to this minor request.
