Award winning "The King's Speech" is to get a makeover in order to make it more suitable for younger audiences in the States.
Director Mike Hooper has reluctantly agreed for swearing to be removed from the Oscar nominated film so that the over 17 R rating can be changed to PG and thus allow access to under 13's.
"I felt that it would be beneficial for kids who might be suffering traumas to see how such unfortunate events can be overcome ".
However, Hooper is incandescent with rage at further edits being made to the film.
All scenes involving King George V's eldest son David and his adulterous affair with American divorcee Wallis Simpson are to disappear completely in order to appease the Christian Evangelical Right.
Moreover, the Motion Picture Association of America has also insisted on cutting all scenes featuring King George VI and the unorthodox Australian speech therapist Lionel Logue on the grounds that "it is quite unacceptable to suggest that a commoner could ever expect to make a valuable contribution to society.
Keeping such footage in the finished product for U.S.consumption would be tantamount to encouraging citizens from the inner cities to try and rise above their station.
The last thing we want is for such a fine film to become a vehicle for any sort of communist propaganda ".
As a result of the over zealous editing, the original running time of 118 minutes has been reduced to 17 minutes 23 seconds.
