Hollywood was rocked today by the startling announcement that Tyler Perry's next film will involve a sassy black woman.
The script is being kept under lock-and-key to insure that its surprising secrets remain unknown until the film's release, but some details have leaked out nonetheless.
Apparently the storyline has something to do with a sassy black woman who dispenses no-nonsense moral guidance as well as hilarious gun-toting comedy.
A young black woman loses faith in religion and in her marriage when she discovers her husband is a no-good adulterer. But the sassy elder talks sense into her, saving the marriage and upholding traditional values. She also delivers a crowd-pleasing moment by punching the "other woman" in the face, as well as several witty moments where she waves a gun around.
In an even more intriguing announcement, it has been revealed that the sassy black woman will be played by a man in drag. "This is truly a daring bit of casting," says Carl Icahn, a major power player at Lionsgate Films, who are producing the movie. "It's uncertain whether audiences will accept a man in the role of a woman." No word yet on who will play the part.
"This is a bold departure for Tyler," says insider geek Harry Knowles. "Clearly he's not a man to simply flog the same old formulas to death."
