LONDON - Simon Cowell, the man who has the Midas touch has let it be known that he has asked Kate Middleton to be the new judge on X-Factor.
The 51-year-old mogul who heads 19th Hole Productions has signed former X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole to be one of the judges on his new American version of X-Factor which will be premiering later this year.
At first Cowell, who is known as "The Sultan of Sarcasm" had hoped that Ms. Cole would be willing to commute back and forth across the "pond" much as Dancing With The Stars (U.S.)and Strictly Come Dancing (U.K.) judges Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli do.
Cheryl who received a $16 million [£10 million, U.K.] contract to appear on Cowell's new show stated that she had certainly considered the idea, but after sitting down with her boyfriend, Derek Hough, one of the stars of Dancing With The Stars had decided against it.
Chezza, as she is known in England, Scotland, and British Boombobanda told a reporter for England's The Bee's Knees News Agency that she agreed with Derek that all of the constant flying could have an adverse effect on her ovaries which could possibly end up interfering with her becoming pregnant with Hough's child in the not-to-distant future.
Cole did have a trans-Atlantic phone chat with Simon and she suggested to him that she feels that Kate Middleton would be a perfect replacement.
Simon told her that he had first considered Middleton as a possible replacement back in November. He recently discussed it with the other two X-Factor judges Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh and that Minogue was for it but Walsh was against it.
Chezza replied that perhaps the time had come for Simon to consider replacing the 58-year-old Michael Louis Vincent Walsh as well.
Cowell stated that he will be sitting down with his fiancée Mezhgan Hussiany and his mom and getting the input of the two most important women in is life. He smiled, winked, and then added, "Other than Paula (Abdul) of course."
Simon Cowell revealed that he will be meeting both with Kate Middleton and her fiancé Prince William at Buckingham Palace within the next few days to discuss the matter.
