Adrian Chiles is to defect to American Television after being offered the plum presenting job by Simon Cowell.
Since 'Daybreak's' falling ratings Chiles is said to have described the breakfast programme as 'c**p' and has asked his agent to get him out of his 'watertight' contract.
The Brummie presenter has become nervous of seeming himself on TV and said that he finds his appearance 'repulsive'. His charming sidekick Christine has tried to get rugged Adrian to watch re-runs of the show but he can not bear to watch himself on breakfast television.
Since his divorce Adrian has become very self-conscious and increasingly concerned about his lack of classic good looks. He was convinced that with Christine it was like 'beauty and the beast'. Poor Adrian felt as if he had lost his mojo when glamourous Christine started dating, handsome, wealthy footballer, Frank Lampard.
Adrian Chiles was said to be flattered by the job offer by Simon Cowell who didn't beat about the bush by saying 'You may be no oil painting but you are a good, direct bloke who speaks his mind.' Simon Cowell is said to be impressed by Chiles uncompromising direct style which was evident when he was presenting the X-Factor aftershow. Cowell said that he enjoyed seeing the sacked contestants who had been sacked by Lord Sugar being grilled by Chiles.
Simon Cowell is said to be so impressed by Adrian Chiles performance on the Apprentice After Show he is going to get him to do an X-Factor After Show and speak to the acts that have been voted off and be as unsympathetic and sarcastic as possible.
Adrian Chiles is said to be reluctant to go without his sidekick the lovely Christine going with him. She however, does not want to move to the States and leave Frank Lampard in the UK. Adrian has decided to be decisive and go as he is fed-up being made to look a 'pussycat' by Christine Bleakley who is said to be able to twist Adrian around her little finger.
An inside source said Simon Cowell had told Adrian to think of himself and save his career. The music mogul told Adrian that if he was not careful his career would be ruined if he didn't cut his losses and escape the bland 'Day Break' show which Cowell said didn't do Adrian's abrasive style justice.
The X-Factor panel are said to be delighted that Adrian Chiles will be taking Dermot's position on the show. Louis Walsh has said it will be 'refreshing' to have Adrian on the American X-Factor. He said 'it won't be about Cheryl or Dannii anymore but it will be about the acts.'
It is a fresh start for Adrian who is looking forward to moving to LA but it is said that he will miss Christine and that he is worried that everything will turn to "c**p" without her by his side. Simon Cowell is said to be considering offering Bleakley a place on the panel but doesn't want to upset his favourite Cheryl who is said to be jealous of Christine.
It will be interesting to see how all this different personalities will get on when the show goes on air and what will happen when Susan Boyle is put into the equation. It is hoped that she won't develop a crush on Adrian start to play up like she did when Piers Morgan rejected her.
