Wacky 'Loose Women' inventor Jane McDonald, the lovely Yorkshire singer and presenter has been chosen to play Ex-Arsenal and England Goalkeeper David Seaman in a stage adaptation of his life.
The Musical, 'Safehands' will be an all singing and dancing spectacular, and Jane told the gathered press about the production.
'I've known David for years, we're both proud Yorkshire folk, and actually played in the same Under 15's County side for The White Rose. Obviously our careers then took different directions but I've always followed what he's up to. I'm delighted to now be playing David in this production which we wrote and directed together. We sound the same so the voice isn't a problem, and I've normally got a 'tache anyway, so that was fine too. It was just the hair, Dave's is a lot longer than mine, so I wear a wig for the performances. '
In a great bit of casting David Seaman plays a young Jane McDonald at a football match cheering on the Goalkeeper after he has signed for Arsenal.
The show will run for an initial sold out spell of 13 weeks, at Wakefield Colosseum, and they'll roll it round the country after that.
David Seaman, old 'Safehands' himself said 'She's Bonkers. '
