But Nicky plays bass.

Rock revolutionary Nicky Wire is to release an album of of Welsh love ballads and folk songs with sexy soprano Katherine Jenkins.

The generation terrorist is said to be seeking a change from the band's outspoken invective on alienation and cultural despair.

So he has sought out fellow Welsh icon Jenkins to record an album of classic Welsh love songs and ballads from the valleys.

On the record the pair perform such classics as We'll Keep A Welcome In The Hillsides, Lovely Lady Softly Sighed and Fairest Gwen. Nicky does tip a wink to his regular persona, however, with a rousing version of Men Of Harlech.

Said someone with a Welsh accent claiming to be a friend of Nicky's: "Oh yes, look you, Nicky has been excited about this project for such a long time, isn't it?

"And working with Katherine is a dream come true. He just talks to her about her frocks for hours on end. Look you."

Make Ellis Ian Fields's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
