A New Black Comedy

Hollywood, CA - CBSS Television plans to debut a remake of an old favorite later this month--'The Mary Tyler Mortician Show'. The new comedy will follow the morbid adventures of Mary Richards, a single woman in Minneapolis who works in a funeral home. Mary Tyler Moore will star, along with many regulars from the old series from the 1970's.

In the premiere episode, Mary feels a little strange when she has to embalm her old boss, Mr. Grant. Mary finally decides to just skip the procedure, and hopes no one will notice. The laughs begin when the funeral keeps getting postponed, and Mr. Grant keeps getting riper and riper...

The second episode has Mary dating a serial killer. Mary finds herself in a moral dilemma. She could turn him over to the police, even though it would hurt her funeral home business. Mary decides to set up her crazy boyfriend with her best-friend Rhoda Morbidstern instead. The laughs really begin after Mary returns to her apartment and finds Rhoda's head in the refrigerator!

Another episode finds Mary in trouble at work. The first female mayor of Minneapolis has just dropped dead, and Mary accidentally loses the body. The laughs begin when Mary decides to impersonate the dead mayor. Mary lies down in the empty coffin, falls asleep, and then gets buried alive!

Producers of 'The Mary Tyler Mortician Show' want the audience to see that death can be extremely funny, and they even plan to use the same old theme song from the previous show:

Death is all around, no need to fake it
You could drop dead now, why don't you take it
You're gonna drop dead after all,
You're gonna drop dead after all!

Make Hydrogen Balloon's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
