A lot of people, especially teens and those who depend upon Facebook to stay in contact and rediscover old classmates and friends, were glad to hear the news this morning that Facebook will not end in March of this year, according to Mark Zuckerberg.
Mark, who had earlier told the press that Facebook was controlling most of his life and threatening his health, has apparently had a change of heart.
"For one thing, several people are going to help me do some of the work that takes up most of my time", says the creator of the popular site.
"Also, as I recently told reporters, I am no longer afraid that I am responsible for people not getting out and enjoying their lives as they are on Facebook all the time. Many have written to say that they didn't go out a lot anyway and that if I close this down, there will be another one similar that will pop up. I think they are right."
Many people have indeed became so dependent upon FaceBook, It has been a place to post the latest up-dated events in our everyday lives that is too slow and expensive to send out by snail mail or even regular e-mail.
It also has been a place to re-connect with a long loss friend that you had no way of finding their new address or e-mail site.
"I don't know what I would do without Facebook", stated 'Janice' in Washington, for example. "I've not only reconnected with old friends but have made many new ones."
