The BBC radio show "The Archers" has celebrated its 60th anniversary episode with some dramatic twists that had been kept secret from the listeners.

The most notable twist saw David Beckham crash through the sleepy village of Ambridge in a truck. However he subsequently signed for the Ambridge Rovers and led them to a 3-0 victory over Barcelona in the European Cup Final.

The show ended with a concert in the Ambridge village hall by The Rolling Stones who had, in a final twist, been in the back of Beckham's truck.

All 8 listeners to the show agreed that the episode had appropriately marked the landmark moment for the series.
