Producers of the wildly popular television series Baywatch are currently in the process of developing a spin-off titled Baywatch-Nude Beach Patrol. Film crews have been busy filming a 2-hour premiere episode on private L.A. County beaches.
While the names of the cast of Baywatch-Nude Beach Patrol hasn't been fully disclosed, sources say that there will be cameo appearances of a few of the original Baywatch actors including David Hasselhoff and Parker Stevenson, and actresses Pamela Anderson and Carmen Electra.
The story line of Baywatch-Nude Beach Patrol will follow the same format as the original Baywatch. Each episode will feature a series of beach rescues intertwined with the goings on in the personal lives of the various lifeguards. The only difference is that the cast and characters will be nude as they carry out their duties.
"It is time for America to realize that the nude human body is beautiful and this vehicle will help to dispel some of the myths that surround nude sun-bathing and beach-going," said Fernandina Fortez, a beauty from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, who will play the lead female role in the new series.
In fact, the entire main cast, with the exception of the cameo roles, is comprised of bronzed Brazilian women and men from Rio. Executive Producer Sol Wisenthal explained, "Brazilians are naturally eager to show off their bodies and are less inhibited than Americans. We honestly tried to cast a few American actresses to play the part of the lifeguards, but couldn't find one who could shed her clothing easily and stand in front of the cameras without trying to place one or both hands over strategic areas."
There will be some peripheral character actors who will make up the rest of the cast and who are not required to shed their clothing. "But it was tough going in the start," claims Wisenthal. "We couldn't get them to focus on their lines and they just wouldn't look into the camera without us putting one or two of the Brazilian girls within eyeshot."
"Eventually, everyone calmed down and we were able to get our work done, but to be honest, it wasn't an easy task. And yes, for the most part, David Hasselhoff was a complete gentleman," he said.
