Blackpool - (Quickstep News): The freed Burmese politician will dance Por Una Cabeza - the Argentinian tango from 'True Lies' - according to sources.
Suu Kyi has been signed up by the BBC Saturday night show for a reported £5 million amid frantic negotiations to enlist California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for her dance partner role.
The pro-democracy leader has been watching reruns of the 'True Lies' movie for the last 15 years of her house arrest and is said to know how to dance every step 'with her eyes shut'.
"Of course, if Suu Kyi chooses to wear a blindfold for her Beeb dance debut it would be a first for Strictly," show compere Bruce Forsyth said today.
"Generally we don't encourage such shenanigans. But in Suu Kyi's case we might make an exception - especially if it makes partnering Arnold a bit less gross, ha ha."
Marlon Brando's performance in Last Tango in Paris still sets the benchmark in ultimate dirty dancing.
