Ricky Gervais wants Karl Pilkington to make another series of 'An Idiot Abroad' after the runaway success of Pilkington's first series.
In that series, Pilkington - a grumpy Mancunian who hates travelling - visted the seven wonders of the world, and given his reaction, he wasn't all that impressed, perhaps most memorably in China.
Commenting on the Great Wall, he compared it to the M6, and as locals chowed down on all manner of exotic foods in a local market, Pilkington settled for a bag of Monster Munch.
Perhaps most hilarious was Pilkington's apoplexy at the state of the toilets, usually little more than holes in the ground, with doorless cubicles and a singular lack of toilet tissue.
It wasn't the usual type of travelogue, just a bald, grumpy Manc whingeing about how shit everything was and complaining about crushed bollocks on camel rides.
Yet Gervais loved it, and wants Pilkington to do a second series, and has vowed to launch an internet campaign in order to demonstrate how popular the idea is, and hopefully apply pressure to the backers, and not least to Karl Pilkington himself.
But Skoob Entertainment News beat Gervais to the punch.
More as we get it.
