Hollywood, CA-- Leonard Nimoy, better known as Mr. Spock, confessed today the entire Star Trek cast "was stoned out of their minds" during filming. Mr. Nimoy claimed the legendary show was nicknamed 'Bong Trek', because everyone was constantly smoking hashish.
"We actually filmed 183 episodes, but only 79 aired. That's because everyone was constantly getting stoned, right out in the open." said Mr. Nimoy.
"Bill Shatner was always stoned. That's why he always spoke in that strange, jerky cadence. He was always trying to hold the smoke in his lungs."
"There were bongs and joints lying around all over the set. Chekov and Sulu had bongs right at their work stations--that's why you never saw their backs. Uhuru used to chain smoke reefers. In a lot of scenes you can see gray smoke coming out of her mouth, if you look closely."
Mr. Nimoy noted that Scotty was the worst of all.
"Mr. Scott kept a bottle of vodka and a giant bong with him in the engineering section of the set. He was always smashed. The sound of the warp engines is really the sound of Scoty sucking on a bong."
Mr. Nimoy noted that he enjoyed working on the show, but doesn't remember much of anything.
"It's fun to watch now, because I really don't know how it turns out!"
