The Association of Halloween Costume Providers (AHCP) have issued a statement advising anybody who is considering renting a vampire costume for the Halloween festivities to act fast, or else face huge disappointment.

Ever popular, vampire costumes are proving to be an even bigger hit than they were last year, and shortages of available rental stock are being reported by costume suppliers from all around the globe.

"Seems like vampires are more popular than ever this year," costumier Billy Savage told our reporter from his store in Bangor, Maine. "I put it down to the Twilight movies myself. Seems the whole darned world's gone vampire crazy recently. I'm out of 'em. All rented out already."

Over on the other side of the world, in Sydney, Australia, the message was pretty much the same - sold out. Seems it's a similar story from Baltimore to Bratislava, Rio to Rochdale, and New Orleans to New Guinea, with vampire costumes approaching record rental numbers.

Skoob Entertainment News supremo, Buffty Ginslinger didn't seem at all surprised when we reported our findings to him.

"It's that bloody Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to blame for this," he said. "Just when you think you've seen the back of the buggers they seem to become resurgent. They're like the bloody bogey man in a bad dream - once they've got their fangs into you, there's no escape."

But all was not necessarily doom and gloom on the Halloween costume hire front, as Billy Savage explained:

"There may be a shortage of Halloween vampire costumes, but there are plenty of alternatives on offer - such as Herman Munster, Simon Cowell, and Cherie Blair."

More as we get it.

Make Skoob1999's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
