It is the anniversary of the day Kanye West dissed Taylor Swift on the 2009 VMA Awards, and in that short year, West has tweeted about it on a daily basis, sometimes 20-30 times. All those apologies have finally added up to a whopping one million and counting mea culpas. That is a record according to Twitter records.
The central theme of all the tweets by West is that he is sorry, from the bottom of his heart, sorry. But it doesn't seem to have made an impact at all. In fact, on this anniversary, people are still calling him all sorts of names. Seems most Taylor Swift fans have long memories and no amount of sorries is going to get West off the hook.
Twitter isn't complaining though. "He's R top twetr N it couldn't B swetr," tweeted Twitter's tweet analyst.
But West is losing steam. He thinks it's time for a change. "I've tweeted till I'm blue in the face. At some point in time, I just have to accept the fact that I fu*ked up and for that, I'm sorry. Oops, sorry, I said sorry. I mean, sorry about that. Wait, wait, sorry. Crap, sorry."
