image for Miley Cyrus' Shocking Confession: She Has Dumped Her Boyfriend Liam Hemsworth
This past Valentine's Day Liam bought Miley these red slippers that Dorothy wore in The Wizard of Oz.

HOLLYWOOD - Miley Cyrus has confirmed reports that she has in fact dumped her Australian boyfriend Liam Hemsworth.

The two first met on the set of the motion picture, The Last Song back in June of 2009. They quickly fell in love and became quite an item traveling to far away places such as Dubai, India; Paris, France; Hong Kong, China; and Upper Clapton, England.

Hemsworth, who is 20, is reportedly heartbroken over the breakup; Cyrus not so much. In fact when the 17-year-old was asked why she had broken up with Liam she replied that it was due to his Australian accent.

Miley said that sometimes, especially in the mornings, she could hardly understand him. She pointed out that she just got tired of having to ask him to repeat something two and three times.

She said that it was especially bad when they were having dinner at exclusive restaurants in Beverly Hills or sitting in her car necking.

Liam was asked if he felt that the breakup was his fault. He looked down and said that he wishes that he had taken that two week course where after ten lessons you can totally get rid of your accent, no matter where it is from, nor how strong it is.

He did say that he wishes her well and hopes that one day she finds the love she is looking for because it is really embarrassing for a guy to watch his girlfriend running around and giving lap dances to guys that she hardly even knows.

SIDENOTE: Liam shook his head and remarked that Miley's song "Can't Be Tamed" has certainly proven to be quite profoundly accurate.
