After holding onto the Michael Jackson autopsy photographs for nearly a year until it was decided whose property they were, a search for the photographs has turned up empty.
"We're going to get to the bottom of this", stated the Los Angeles District Attorney. "Those photos were under lock and key and few people even knew where they were! Now, suddenly, they disappear."
As Michael Jackson fans remember, both the District Attorney and the L.A. Police told reporters six months ago that each other had the originals. Now, it seems, someone else has taken them.
Assistant D.A. Michael Anderson still claims that their office never came into possession of the pics.
"I think that if someone obtained those and made a big cash deal with a tabloid, they would have been all over the place by now. So maybe the family has them after all."
However, a spokesman for the Jackson family say that only Janet ever saw them and that the police were the ones holding the photographs almost a year ago.
Meanwhile, Joe Jackson, Michael's father, is threatening to sue the LA Police Department, Coroner's office, the Los Angeles District Attorney and his daughter, Janet Jackson.
