Nina Dobrev of the hit television series, The Vampire Diaries, will be appearing in the next Spiderman movie if she passes a script reading session coming up this week.
"There's a lot of competition for the role but I believe I have the inside track", Dobrev reportedly told her co-stars on 'The Vampire Diaries'. "They know I can act and have already reviewed some of our television episodes."
Should she get the part, and there are about a dozen trying out for the part, Dobrev said that it would not effect her role in the television series. The shooting for Spiderman is not due until December of this year.
All the television shooting for "The Vampire Diaries" will be through by then.
Actor Andrew Garfield will have the starring role as Spiderman in this episode, that has already been decided, according to director, Marc Webb. Webb also told our reporter that the new female lead is not Mary Jane but didn't say if it would be the part of Gwen Stacy or not.
Perhaps Spidey is casting his web far afield and will haul in a new female every episode.
Webb also stated that the new Spiderman will be back at the high school once again.
There has been no announcement yet on exactly who Spiderman's foe will be, but much speculation.
"The key controversy here will be when Spiderman's new love screams from the bathroom, "Peter, there's a big old spider in here on the commode, come in here a smash it!"
Webb stated that there had already been quite a bit of humor on that. "Plus my name being Webb. Funniest was when one 16-year-old read it, "Spider, there a big Peter in here on the commode!"
