Donald Trump is the latest celebrity to throw his hat in the ring and beg for a judge's seat on the next season of American Idol. He also believes that former Miss California USA, Carrie Prejean would make an excellent female judge, more so than Jennifer Lopez.
Carrie and I have what other folks in the running don't have, love for this country and the ability to say no without feeling like we have to assuage anyone's feelings. To us, no means no.
Trump claims that if he were judge, the initial audition period could be cut from several weeks to just one or two. "I'm a quick worker. I cut to the chase. I don't sit there and say, well maybe, maybe not. If I were head judge, and I would be head judge, make no mistake about that, I'd just tell the other judges to vote with me. They'd do it cause they are afraid of me. I have that kind of power."
Trump claims that kind of power is what has been lacking on American Idol all along. When asked if he would consider keeping Randy Jackson or Kara DioGuardi, Trump claims he'd ditch DioGuardi in a heartbeat, but keep Jackson. Said Trump, "I don't particularly care for that dawg thing he does or any of his other mannerisms which seem to be just a tad gay for my liking, but honestly, I'm a bit intimidated by black men, so I'd just allow him to stay on so I didn't have to confront the issue."
Look for a decision to be made shortly on who really will become the next American Idol…judge.
