Like Mandela, Gandhi, Bhutto and DMX, the human race has a shameful record of imprisoning those who had the courage to rally against oppression. And, while we all wish we can look at that history, believing that we've risen above it, oppression of the learned counterculturists continues.
Fascism exists, today, in Seaside Heights, NJ, and its latest victim is policital prisoner Nicole Polizzi.
The 22 year old Chilean-American actress, who plays "Snooki" on MTV's drama-documentary "Jersey Shore", was arrested on generic "causing a disturbance" charged last week.
Her release, secured only when international organizations like Greenpeace and PETA interceded on her behalf, was further subverted when the fascist powers-that-be attempted to block release of her policital statements while imprisoned.
But that was not to be.
"I'm the best thing in this town," Ms. Polizzi preached after stormtroopers busted her, alleging that she was a drunk nuisance Friday.
Ms. Polizzi, wearing a red and black T-shirt with the acronym for "Silence Leads to Ultimate Treachery" across the chest, was filmed being pushed off a bicycle, crawling --obviously poisoned by the Regime-- on the beach. She also tried to escape a police spy who was pretending to shower by the boardwalk before she was arrested.
"You can't tell me what to do - I'm Snooki," she gently chided, attempting to dissuade their continued course of action, explaining that there will be international press coverage. "You can't do this to me. I'm f--king Snooki. You guys are going to be sorry for this. Release me!"
"She was attempting to educate everyone who walked by her [in the police stationhouse]," said a disciple. "She was trying to explain to them, 'I'm a star, you can't do this to me.'"
Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it.
