Saying that she has 'personal' reasons for quitting, Lindsay Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, has resigned from representing the actress, right after Lohan received a 90-day sentence from a judge Tuesday.
"I believe the sentence was too harsh for someone in Lindsay's frame of mind. I think she's still a little girl in her mind and the 'nasty' judge is out to get her", Holly reportedly told a judge yesterday after she gave her reasons for leaving.
Her replacement has not been announced at this time.
A representative for the seasoned defense attorney, who fought to keep the troubled star out of jail during a daylong hearing Tuesday, said her earlier remarks about Lohan's sentence remained valid.
"The reality is that Ms. Lohan, like most defendants, had to balance their work with court commitments. To be punished so severely for doing so, particularly in light of the fact that she substantially complied with each of her probationary conditions, is harsh and unfair," it said.
Of course, many 'regular' people totally disagree. This is her SEVENTH time. Doesn't she deserve a sentence of some kind?
90% of those polled by an independent poll stated that the 'average' person would have received a much harsher sentence, and on the first couple of times.
"If it were me", stated one, "I wouldn't have been OUT of jail in time to commit the last 4 offenses."
