Simon Cowell confirmed today that Susan Boyle would replace Amanda Holden, as the female judge on the next series of 'Britain's Got Talent'.
Holden (39), regrets that she will be unavailable for the next series, as she pursues other career opportunities. She confirmed that she is to appear as one of the initial contestants on ITV's new reality show, 'I'm a Celebrity, Let Me Strictly Come Dance Myself Out Of Here'.
In the meantime, Cowell said that he was keen to continue with the policy of employing contemporary, young and sexy female judges, a formula that has proved successful for 'BGT', with Holden and for X Factor, with Cheryl Cole. He said that he felt 'Susan was the obvious choice'.
When asked if he was being ironic, he replied, 'Yes!'
'Seriously, though', he continued, ' Who is better-placed to be a judge, than someone who has been through the process? Alesha Dixon proved herself on 'Strictly' despite initial criticism'.
'Furthermore', he continued, 'I, for one, am looking forward to enjoying the
sexual-chemistry between Susan and Piers (Morgan)'.
Piers Morgan replied that he was 'moist with anticipation!'
That's a little too much information thanks Piers!
