A court in South Africa has dropped a Marijuana-smoking charge against Paris Hilton along with a deal over the nude video made during the World Cup in South Africa.
Ms. Hilton appeared late Friday in a FIFA World Cup courtroom after being arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana at a quarterfinal match between Brazil and the Netherlands. Plus a copy of the nude video made with several teams that were in competition from several countries.
The authorities were persuaded to drop the charges against Hilton, after her co-accused, one Jennifer Rovero, acknowledged to be in possession of cannabis, and pleaded guilty," stated Brig. Sally De Beer, a spokeswoman for the South African police.
Rovero, 31, from New York, was sentenced to a fine of 1000 rand ($130) or 30 days imprisonment, De Beer said.
A publicist for Hilton said the incident was a "misunderstanding about the marijuana smoking. "They got the wrong person.
"Of course, they got the right person as you can easily see in the video", stated Jonathon Kramer, the publicist. "But we paid all fines, topped them off with a gift sum and left a dozen copies of the videos."
Meanwhile, Paris has released a new perfume "Oiled Gulf" which will remind everyone of what the people living on the Gulf of Mexico smell every day.
