A year to the day since the sudden death of the King Of Pop, Michael Jackson, fans the world over held a series of tributes in honour of their fallen idol.
In the USA, many TV channels ran MJ (as fans called him) tribute shows, and in the UK, Sky Premiere ran the 'This Is It' movie, a documentary account of the star's rehearsals for the 50 O2 Arena shows that never happened.
Meanwhile, MJ's father, Joe - never one to let an opportunity slip by, announced that he is to sue MJ's personal physician.
One of the more bizarre tributes to the late singer occurred in Tokyo, where 36 people crowded into an elevator and started waving their arms about to the sound of Jackson's Earthsong.
In a Los Angeles animal sanctuary, Bubbles the chimp - once MJ's inseperable companion - was reported to "not give a fuck one way or the other" as he seemed more interested in scratching his arse.
There is no doubt though, that the world has become a poorer place since MJ's demise. How we all miss the child molestation allegations, the baby hanging off a balcony routine, the comedy plastic surgery, the ridiculous wigs, the Martin Bashir documentary, the surgical masks, the military outfits, the opulent spending sprees, the girly voice, the finger plasters, the lawsuits, the hyperbaric chamber, the moonwalk, and, oh yes, the moonwalk. Not forgetting the glittery glove, the dancing on cars, the fedora, and of course the bloody moonwalk.
MJ - One year on. Sadly missed.
More as we get it.
