Robert Pattinson, who has been playing the vampire, Edward Cullen for most of the past two years, was extremely surprised to find out that he is actually related to Vlad The Impaler, the person that "Dracula" was modeled after by horror author Bram Stoker. Although Dracula was a real person from history.
"That is wild! That is so hard to believe. You mean I'm actually related to the guy?", Pattinson asked Geneologist, Anastasia, an expert at Ancestry.Com. (You might look that up and see if you also have this dangerous ancestor in your own line.)
Perhaps that's why Pattinson plays the vampire part so well in the movie series. You might say that it's in his blood.
Vlad The Impaler's name was actually "Vlad II Dracula". He is also related to the British royal family. Prince Harry and William are distant cousins to both Vlad and the Twilight star.
"This makes my actual life connected up with the real Dracula", stated an amazed Pattinson. "I need to think about this!"
Before leaving, Pattinson told reporters, "Guess who else in in the Dracula line?"
