image for Simon Cowell Wins Lawsuit By Former American Idol Performe

A trial judge has ruled in favor of former judge, Simon Cowell, on American Idol after a former performer launched a lawsuit some six months ago.

Cowell told reporters that he was glad the 'thing' was over and that it was very silly to begin with. "Careful", advised his attorney. "We don't want to come back in here.

Of course, Cowell and his attorney had to dodge through a throng of reporters to reach the limousine that slowly drove away.

The lawsuit was brought by former American Idol second-round loser, Angela Berry, after she had reviewed her recording of her performance of "Me And Bobby McGee" almost two years ago, to see what she did wrong.

It was while she was reviewing the recording that she allowed it to play through to hear the comments of the judges that brought about the lawsuit.

"Mr. Cowell was definitely against me and he called me names including, "A poor-mouth version of Janis Joplin" but that wasn't what caught my attention. He also used the word "Mucker". I was humiliated by that name and it brought that night back to me, and the anger that I felt."

However, Judge Leroy Mansfield ruled that Ms. Berry had asked for the judgment and knew beforehand that she would be critiqued. He stated that that was a part of the deal. Next he ruled that, after careful study, there was really no specific word as "Mucker".

"I looked it up and it can mean lots of things bad and good. One was even "a good friend" in a slang dictionary."

"I realize there can be all types of slang out in the public at any time, but this could mean anything that whoever used it, said that it meant."

He, therefore threw out the case.

Meanwhile, Berry and her attorney are said to be consulting every type of dictionary that they can get for a possible appeal.
