Yes, 'our' sweet-talking Simon has indeed won a BAFTA award for his work in 'the biz'. Now worth about l38 million pounds, he remained as humble as ever as he accepted his award.
He spoke of his childhood. Aw! He spoke about his dad bringing home a colour telly on which they watched the only t.v. then broadcast in colour. Aw!
(American readers - or others in 'the know' - correct me if I am wrong, but I do believe the first ever TV show to be broadcast in colour was indeed The Jetsons.)
To 'know' him is to 'love' him. Susan Boyle brought out Simon's soft side, of that there's no doubt. Way to go Susan!
At the time of this 'going to press' we are not sure if Susan Boyle was in the audience to watch Simon receive his award, or at home with Pebbles.
Simon was quoted, after the ceremony, as having said,
"I was truly heartbroken when Chandi, the dancing dog, did not WIN the final of BGT but this truly unexpected award has made me smile again."
Actually, Simon never misses a 'smile moment'. Those teeth cost him quite a bit!
Congratulations Simon! Good luck with your new venture, The World's Got Talent.
