image for Frank Frazetta, Master Artist, Dead At 92

Schoolboys of all ages in the U.S. and Britain might want to take a pause for one minute today as it was announced that the great paperback artist Frank Frazetta has died. Can you believe he was 92?

Many of us are old enough to remember his work in Eerie and Creepy Magazines as well as Mad Magazine, going back to the 1950s.

Truth be told, how many science fiction writers first became popular because the Frank Frazetta cover convinced them to purchase a copy and eventually, decide to actually read the book and quit looking at the cover.

Most were Conan types with a beautiful woman.

Frazetta inspired more artists to go into the business and led to todays colorful mags.

Frank Frazetta told his friends that it was his wife, Ellie, who was the inspiration for his drawings.

So, where does one go to see any old photographs of Ellie?

Make Bureau's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)
