TV presenter Christine Bleakley this morning denied any knowledge of a covert 'big ginger beard' protest directed at BBC programme chiefs by Adrian Chiles over 'tinkering' with the format of popular magazine programme 'The One Show.'
Observers were stunned recently when Chiles showed up for work sporting an 'untidy gingerish' beard, and even more stunned when he refused to shave it off, as directed to by BBC bosses. Further controversy was aroused as a man matching Chiles' description was spotted purchasing a really big false ginger beard from a theatrical costume shop in what some observers see as preparation for a grand ginger beard protest of unprecedented proportions.
"Such a massive hairy ginger beard protest would certainly ruffle a few feathers," TV presenter Eamon Holmes told us. "Although in fairness, we have no evidence that Adrian Chiles has such a protest in mind."
Chiles's co-presenter on The One Show, Christine Bleakley told us that she had no idea whether or not Chiles was planning a big ginger beard protest on live television and refused to confirm that Chiles is upset and hurt by the way that the BBC are treating him.
When asked if rumours linking her with Chelsea footballer Frank Lampard had any bearing on Chiles's suspected big ginger beard display of dissent, Christine Bleakley rolled her eyes heavenwards and was strongly suspected of muttering, "Oh for the love of God!" under her breath.
Privately, friends of Christine Bleakley have expressed concern that her name will become synonymous with the words 'sex' and 'scandal' if she really is cosying up with Frank Lampard, who is a known associate of John Terry and Ashley Cole, and thus by default an associate of Vanessa Perroncel, Wayne Bridge, and Cheryl Cole.
A good friend of Cheryl Cole's, Sarah Harding out of Girls Aloud, who has allegedly seen Chiles and Bleakley together on TV, asked us when we intended to get around to Spoofing her.
Our answer was unequivocal: We don't Spoof Sarah Harding. Not now. Not ever.
More as we get it.
