Reality TV producers are planning a new series based on the Washington state town where the Twilight films are set, according to a tip received by two of our UP2 reporters. We checked some recent bits and it appears to be true and is already in the planning stages.
Casting is actually underway for the new reality show about the everyday lives of the residents of Forks, Washington, which now calls itself 'The Home of Twilight.' Since every town needs some income at the present time, who can blame them?
Twilight author Stephenie Meyer has used the town of 3,000 as the backdrop for the vampire series, so why not take advantage and start a reality show about it?
The producer, according to the report received, is Gaston Melrose, who has told the locals we interviewed that they won't be filming out on the ocean or dealing with any danger of that kind, but the idea is to show what life here is really like. "There are a variety of ways we could do this, but of course this is at the very beginning stages."
"Right now we're trying to sort out what this area is really like from all the vampire and other myths that have been spread about."
"However, while we won't focus on the supernatural happenings about, and there are many, they are bound to pop up when we include several locals."
So we did our own interviews.
"Where do you think the writer got her inspiration?", asked one young man. "There have been vampire stories here since my grandfather can remember, and they are not the old movie version of them, but more like the new films."
"The old people called them the 'soul suckers' when I was a kid", stated one retired lady. "I've seen some things that I am not sure about at all. You just don't talk about them anymore for fear of being laughed at."
"But the old people don't laugh. They have witnessed too much."
