When the final episode of Oprah goes off the air in about a year from now, Harpo Inc. is saying that it will be replaced by The Best Of Oprah mixed in with the top country artists live and on film.
"We'll be reshowing a top interview, say with John Ritter, from a previous episode of Oprah and then switch to a rousing number called "Texas Men" by Taylor Swift and after that, a clip of Tex Ritter doing "The Wayward Wind", stated Assistant Manager Johnathon Santeen. "You see how that works?"
Santeen then went on to give example after example of a recorded interview by Oprah, a current country western crossover act and then a musical from the early days of Country & Western.
"We have an interview with professional basketball player Spud Webb, switch from there to a new recording by Rascal Flatts called "Dolly Ate Her Potato Skins & Look What Happened" to an old video of Little Jimmy Dickens doing "Taters Never Did Taste Good With Chicken On A Plate".
"See how that all ties in? I think the audience will love it because there are some great interviews we have recorded and Country music has gotten popular everywhere."
Santeen stated that Oprah will do a few special interviews every now and then to keep the interest of the fans. He stated that Oprah has some other things she wants to do, including politics and charity work.
"She'll never retire unless it's do to sickness or ballooning up to 300 pounds."
That's "The Grand Ole Oprah", coming in 2011. Stay tuned for the latest.
