Expecting a higher quality and more prolific effort for the Skoob's milestone storyline, Spoof writers threaten to give the story only one star in retaliation for having their hopes and dreams crushed.
"He actually did a puff piece about Miley Cyrus", said Katarina Frogpond. "How incredibly disappointing".
Other writers share the sentiment, expecting the 1000th story to be a socially important, candidate for the Pulitzer. "We weren't expecting Tolstoy, but maybe something on the order of Dan Brown or Michael Crighton", says Octogenarian writer, Victor Nicholas. "This story was fun, I'll admit that, but pure drivel to be sure."
Spoof editor Mark Lowton could not be reached for comment, but several discussion forum threads for the Skoob's 1000th storyline have been locked or removed from view. Believers in the Skoob however, know he will rise above the criticism and come back strong for story 1001.
