X-Factor's Jedward, John and Edward Grimes are all set to make their acting debut on Britain's most popular soap, Coronation Street.
The show's producers, anxious as ever to keep a finger on the nation's pulse swung a deal for the Dublin duo to appear on the show in an initial run of six episodes.
How the twins are to be introduced remains a closely guarded secret, but an insider told us that they would probably be the long lost adopted twins fathered by Roy Cropper on a visit to a model railway exhibition in the Irish capital, some years ago.
The insider told us:
"They'll make out that Roy Cropper got drunk on Guinness at the model railway exhibition and was seduced by a sexy Colleen. The twins were a result of that liaison, and now they've come to find their "real daddy".
Hayley, Roy's post-op transsexual wife will apparently be furious over the revelations and threaten to set fire to Roy's man-bag.
Other famous celebrities who have made cameo appearances on 'The Street' include Sir Ian McKellan, comedian Peter Kay, Status Quo, Monkee, Davey Jones, Joanna Lumley, and former Manchester United footballers Lee Sharpe and Paul Parker, although the latter pair were only using the set on a promotional photo-shoot.
More as we get it - if Tony Gordon doesn't murder our inside man.
