To everyone's surprise, Rachel Adedeji avoided yet another sing-off in this year's X-Factor due mainly to a change in hairstyle and a rollicking version of Tuna Turner's 'Proud Mary'
And then, Simon Cowell's protege, Danyl of the Johnsons, who clearly thought he'd stroll the whole way through the contest emerging as the final victor, found himself singing for his life against trio, Miss Frank.
Danyl managed to make it through in the end as the girls performed a pretty miserable version of the Rose Royce classic, 'Love Don't Live Here Any More' despite his being totally over the top and singing like a howling wolf.
In the judges' vote, Cheryl Cole, wife of the reputed arsehole Chelsea and England philanderer, Cashley, who had previously cast aspersions on Danyl's sexuality then retracted the statement, claiming it to be an 'in joke' threw the vote back to the public.
It is thought that some people dislike Danyl for two reasons; that he is a big headed twat who thinks he knows it all, and that he is championed by the somewhat like-minded Simon Cowell.
Rachel reportedly told a family member as she exited the stage that it was a relief not to be involved in another bleedin' sing-off.
"Infamy," she said, echoing the words of deceased Carry On star Kenneth Williams. "I thought they all had it in for me."
More as we get it.
But quite frankly, most people don't give a toss either way.
