Kanye West has won yet another award, this time Best Rap Album at the annual Guinea Pig award show "The Hammy's". He beat many Guinea Pig's to the trophy, many of whom are disappointed with the decision to hand the award to someone from outside the species.
Guinea Pig rap superstar The Notorious P.I.G. was particularily outspoken about the decision, amidst suggestions that Kanye was only given the award in hope of avoiding a similar incident to the one that occurred at the MTV VMA awards in New York last month, where he invaded the stage in protest. P.I.G. has this to say:
" This is wrong, this has made a mockery of Guinea Pig music and our proud Hip-Hop community. People were just afraid of Kanye because of the way he has acted at award shows before and also because he is the size of 100 Guinea Pigs put together."
But the young Guinea Pig rapper who turned 2 in March and grew up in a cage in the rough borough of Brooklyn, New York, appeared unfazed by Kanye's reputation:
"I would like to see him try and take my award, I would lay him out."
The shows organisers refused to officially confirm the rumours that Kanye was given the award through fear. However a source who declined to be named said this:
"Of course we took into account Kanye's reputation, imagine what havoc he could have caused on that stage. He could have killed us all, just as he did his career when he released "808's & Heartbreak."
Other award winners at the show were pop sensation Pig's Aloud and rock band Cage Against The Machine.
