London, Wednesday. Popular host of TV motoring programme, Top Gear, Jeremy Clarkson will join UK rock group Status Quo for a number of headlining gigs at major northern England clubs located in Bradford, Huddersfield, Salford and Warrington.
Clarkson, who freely admits that he cannot play any musical instrument whatsoever let alone sing in tune, was approached by Quo frontmen Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt to join their band in order to raise their profile after a lack lustre year on the road.
Clarkson reluctantly agreed to the proposal but only after negotiating a multi million dollar contract with a free Ferrari sports sedan featuring turbo fuel injectors and air con into the mix.
Clarkson says that he isn't sure how his appearance in the band will go or even what instrument the boys will ask him to play.
"All I can tell you is that I'll be the mug looking decidedly outrageous on stage" said the long time TV host. Francis Rossi is excited about the celebrity joining their band. "Yeah, well, you know, um, yeah its, um, really cool, yeah" he said.
Status Quo are legendary for their constant touring and many people are expected to turn out for these upcoming shows. NB Quo management have confirmed that Clarkson will be playing a Ford Cortina exhaust system doubling as a flute when the first shows commence in October.
