A spokesperson for Nintendo has confirmed earlier today the Top Gear presenters have been cast as three out of a possible fifty real-life celebrity villagers in the upcoming game Animal Crossing: The Celebrity Neighbours. At the press conference, the spokesperson, who wished to remain unnamed, released exclusive details about the character designs.
Jeremy Clarkson, who will be known as "Jeremy", will appear as a giraffe. This will make him the second giraffe to feature in the game, after the fashionista Gracie, who has appeared in all three games to date.
Richard Hammond, who's in-game name is "Richard", will be portrayed as a hamster, a pun on his infamous nickname "Hamster".
Following his nickname "Captain Slow", James May, who will simply be called "James", will appear as a turtle. Although he will initially be the slowest moving neighbour, if players hand him the correct materials, he will be seen wearing a jetpack and roller skates.
The spokesperson told the press, "The boys are very excited by this. They have agreed to voice their own characters, and are currently learning Animalese as I speak." He refused to release any more details concerning the characters.
None of the presenters were available to comment.
