Gurkha Goddess and erstwhile star of Absolutely Fabulous, Joanna Lumley is rumoured to be taking the lead role in a Barry Norman directed remake of Billy Wilder's classic 1959 comedy laugh riot, 'Some Like It Hot.'
Lumley will play the Sugar Kane role after attempts to revitalise Marilyn Monroe's flagging career stalled when it was discovered she was dead.
Lumley is reportedly delighted to be playing the role and has given written testaments guaranteeing that she won't start brandishing a kukri - or gurkha knife - on set.
Jonathon Ross, who is to take over the Tony Curtis role said he was:
"Delighted to involved in the pwoject."
Robbie Coltrane, better known as Hagrid out of the Harry Potter films, and as Cracker, a TV Psychologist out of 'Cracker' off the telly, who will play the Jack Lemmon role, told us:
"I am actually Scottish. I'll do anything for money, as long as the price is right."
Shooting is scheduled to start in Chicago, as soon as the shootings in Chicago stop.
Barry Norman told us:
"I haven't worked for years so this is a great opportunity for me."
Cilla Black and Katie Price have expressed an interest in appearing as flappers.
More on this as the film develops.
