The rumor that ran through the crowd at the San Diego Comic Con is beginning to take shape.
Although Twilight stars Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner were the screaming highlight for the weekend blow-out, a rumor began going through the audience about a new screenplay and we can now report that there is some substance behind it.
Recently, after finally committing himself to all the Twilight movies scheduled, Robert Pattinson had an idea for another Twilight that would follow the movies already scheduled and began jotting down notes between scenes and during non-shooting hours.
After the wild reception in San Diego, Pattinson finally got up the nerve to submit his bare bones framework of a new Twilight movie screenplay to Twilight novelist, Stephenie Meyer, after weeks of fearing she wouldn't like it.
However, Pattinson received news before leaving San Diego, that not only does Ms. Meyer love the rough screenplay, she wants to talk about a deal in which she would first write the book and she and Pattinson would then complete the screenplay, with Pattinson doing most of the work on it.
"We are getting together in a couple of weeks", insiders quoted Meyer. "I can begin work immediately on the book and Pattinson and I will go over each chapter and compare it with his screenplay framework and also share ideas about both."
People in the movie industry were not surprised that Pattinson could write a solid screenplay.
Alan Lancaster, one of many behind-the-scenes people at the first and upcoming Twilight stated, "The young man has tremendous talent. He's written lots of songs, one was in the first Twilight if you'll recall, maybe two...but one was on the album release. I can see why the rumor was so hot during the weekend."
Let's hope that this can get off to a great start. After someone posted part of another Twilight book on the internet before she finished it, Meyer seemed to go into a depression about the series. If you've ever half finished something and then had it stolen or written a full story and had the computer completely delete it, then you know how this feels and this was a much larger work.
Now she seems really excited about doing another one.
So if you attended the San Diego Comic Con over the weekend and was part of that screaming audience, congratulations.
Apparently your enthusiasm has been felt by your favorite actors and writer.
