That's a rumor being heard all over the Warner Brothers facilities but is it true?
"It's 80-90% true", stated a wish-to-be anonymous employee who should know. "The books are outstanding and the key problem would be to try to live up to the books."
But look what has happened to Twilight and Harry Potter, multi-movies and good ones at that.
Who would play the young heroine? For one, the name Abigail Kathleen Breslin keeps coming up as the young lady certainly can act. Miley Cyrus would be a possibility, but the Disney/Warner thing would have to be worked out.
Besides, Miley, who can look very young, will always look like Miley, if you know what I mean.
So the odds here is of a fresh new face. There are so many talented kids on cable and trying to get into cable series that a good try-out for the part should settle it.
Whoever gets the part, will become famous within a very short time, providing the movie hits anywhere near the books reputation.
But look for an announcement of the Cassandra Clare books coming to the big screen in the near future, as Unique Features with a three-year first-look deal at Warner Brothers, former New Line executive Bob Shaye and his longtime partner Michael Lynne have assembled a slate of films that includes animation, sci-fi and fantasy.
