image for Adam Lambert Named As New Miss California
Mardi Gras 2008

First, Miss California, USA Carrie Prejean, who stirred up a hornet's nest of controversy when she said gays shouldn't be allowed to marry, and got the word from pageant head Donald Trump was replaced by runner-up, Tami Farrell.

But Trump and other pageant leaders said Farrell is now being sacked, not because of her controversial remarks (She's against gay marriage also) but because she hadn't been holding up her end of the agreement she signed when she entered the pageant, just as Carrie Prejean before her.

"This was a decision based solely on contract violations, including Ms. Farrell unwillingness to at least listen to other people's point of view and make appearances, even at gay or certian concert events on behalf of the Miss California USA organization," Trump allegedly told reporters this morning.

He had complained at a news conference last week that Tami Farrell was skipping Miss California USA events while speaking out against gay marriage at unsanctioned appearances.

So this morning, Donald Trump named Adam Lambert as the new Ms. California.

"I realize this is highly unusual but the other two just didn't get it", one reporter present at the hastily called news conference said that Trump told them.

Apparently Adam Lambert is thrilled as he is talking about "ground-breaking" events. He reportedly has already called the head of next years Mardi Gras and will be it's official Queen.

Lambert has also been called and sent congratulations by Carrie Prejean, who, oddly enough, has became a great friend of Lambert.

"I plan to call Sir Elton John, who has become my mentor also, about actually getting to meet the Queen of England and several others as Miss California", Lambert told a reporter for the National Inquisitor.

Trump now seems happy with his choice. "Now this is more like it. This is what a beauty contest should be, open to all, especially to people without prejudice...like me."
