image for Sir Anthony Hopkins To Return As Hannibal Lector One Last Time
The Mask Won't Lokk Like This

Sir Anthony 'The Cannibal' Hopkins is set to return for one last time as Hannibal Lector in a special two-hour episode of Coronation Street to be filmed next month.

Hopkins, 54, a massive fan of the TV Soap, also 54, can't wait to get his teeth into the role and already regular cast members are wondering who, if anyone, will become victim of Lector's penchant for eating then killing people, or the other way ran, dependent entirely on his mood.

But don't fear Street fans! Hannibal is not in Weatherfield to eat anyone, the plot line, though Top Secret Codeword, shows that Lector is merely passing through, he will of course cause gossip amongst the regulars and there is even talk of a love scene with another possible comeback star Bet Lynch, played by Julie Goodyear.

Hopkins told me "Keep this under your hat" (which I wasn't wearing) "but I am bringing Hannibal back for one last time - so people can see that when he interacts with simple Northern folk he has no intention of eating their tongues or biting their cheeks. Actually he will surprise people at first, when he is wheeled into the Rover's with that mask on and all tied up, but after a while, once he escapes using a lamb bone, the locals take a liking to him."

It is going to be brilliant.

Make Atticus Finch's day - give this story five thumbs-up (there's no need to register, the thumbs are just down there!)

The story above is a satire or parody. It is entirely fictitious.
